Totem Heritage Center (601 Deermount Street, Ketchikan) – this cultural center preserves & perpetuates the living artistic traditions of the Tlingit, Haida and Tsimshian (native Alaskan) peoples that gave rise to the original totem poles on display, and provides the opportunity to discover and learn more about their significance. The center’s knowledgeable staff and interpretive panels help visitors gain a historical context with which to approach contemporary totem poles and the cultural traditions present in our community. Admission: $6.00 (adult); $5.00 (seniors), free for military and children. Hours: 8:00 am – 5:00 pm daily (Summer); 1:00 pm – 5:00 pm Tuesday-Saturday (Winter).
